On the 16th of February, internationally acclaimed artist Jean Marc Calvet will touch down in Auckland. A cat with many lives, Jean Marc started out on the streets. His journey was one of addiction, crime and despair until the age of 38 when he overcame his addictions through an extraordinary metamorphosis in which he began to paint. Now a passionate suicide prevention advocate, Jean Marc hopes his story of redemption will give hope to young and vulnerable New Zealanders.
Splice is helping Jean Marc to use the compelling story of his transformation from addict to artist as a way to connect with at-risk youth. New Zealand has the highest youth suicide rate in the OECD. Our hope is that Jean-Marc’s message, to paraphrase Carrie Fisher, will help others turn their pain into art.
Below you will find all the information needed to connect with the Jean Marc tour!
